The Debenhams store manager noted that the store is struggling to recruit against John Lewis and local department stores. The company is cutting pay roll as we go into the peak holiday season. As a solution Debenhams Colchester and Job Centre Colchester will be getting in unemployed people for eight weeks. The store manager dressed it up as no obligation, that "Job Centre pays them so we don't touch them and if they're rubbish we can send them away".
Currently on this "placement" initially volunteered but after being spoken to like crap by a manager (in front of another member of staff) am now aware I may be sanctioned if I leave.
