Personal Stories

Stories & experiences of Workfare

  1. Seetec claim to reimburse travel costs or provide travel permits to those who cant afford to outlay the cost. However when I attended at the stated day and time to collect my travel permit nobody was there. Waited around for over 30 mins but was told that if I didnt make it to my placement on time I would be santioned, so I was forced to walk the two miles to my placement and two miles home at the end of the day. When I called Seetec out on this the woman just shrugged and sniggered. I am young and healthy but I struggled to walk that far, another guy in his 60s was also forced to walk to his placement that day, I wouldnt be surprised if he had a heart attack or serious health issues as a result. I just dont understand how they can justify treating people like this
  2. G4S GETS 307.20 A WEEK COS I'M ON THIS COURSE.
  3. Put into the placement despite having found a voluntary placement of my own which is more suitable for the career I'm looking for. I cannot continue my volunteering whilst on MWA.
