Places like the Samaritans/Place2Be, hospitals/Stepping Stones etc..are using volunteer workers who hope to get a job via experience, but find voluntary work can become a permanent role due to the incompetence of the government/job centres in helping us gain employment in our field. Place2Be for eg,has 700 volunteer counsellors. That's pretty disgusting considering my friend is actually carrying out hourly high-intensity PWP style counselling for free!
