Name and Shame Report

, Aug 2016

Local people are under the vague impression that this organisation is some kind of philanthropic project, even a charity. It isn't. It is a very upmarket organisation selling very expensive products. They are not above helping themselves to resources not intended for them - the Inoki offcuts from the new Hastings Pier were advertised as being for local people to take away but when I went along they were being loade onto a flatbed by workmen and when I asked about the wood's destination was told with a smirk that the "Wood Recycling project" was getting it. The company has a link on its website to disclaimers about helping people with work experience, but the link doesn't work. However they use unpaid labour on the Work Programme and this information comes from someone who doesn't, a local employer who runs a co-operative craft shop in Hastings.
