Personal Stories

Stories & experiences of Workfare

  1. I've contacted you about this placement provider before. Though there have been some developments since. Anti-workfare comments on social media led to quite a bit of chaos, was brief talk of closing the store down and even possibly going after the commenters for defamation. A "volunteer" was even kicked out as he said that they kind of have a point as he was here against his will. Have been talking to others and apparently a lot of "volunteers" have been kicked out for one reason or another.
  2. Everyone 'employed' by this charity are volunteers, almost all of which are on a Community Work Placement. They want me to work the 30 hours over Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday. I also have dedicated job searching with Learn Direct on the Friday. So the only full day I get off is Sunday. That surely can't be right?
