From what I have managed to gather online, the company is not a charity or a community based programme. In fact it seems it has a huge turnover in profits each year and employs thousands of paid staff. I phoned the provider (Learn Direct) to ask questions about the placement as their letter was vague at best and I was told I'd be recycling PVC glass windows and doors and they would provide safety boots, glasses and high vis vest but I would need to ruin some of my own clothes as a uniform is not provided.
All the task entails is removing aluminium from window frames.
