Personal Stories

Stories & experiences of Workfare

  1. This is a waste recycling company.I was told by my adviser that the placement people would contact me to discuss what type of placement I would like to do.I received NO such call just a letter stating when I start at this recycling firm. I don't mind doing the mandatory work placement as long as its for a charity and not a company that should be paying a wage and not exploiting people to maximize their profit...I am willing to risk taking the 3 months sanction for this as it goes against everything I believe in.
  2. i was put on this as punishment 4 not taking part in a voluntary, over 50`s course. For 4 wks i did, virtually nothing.I listened 2 music and read books! The idea seems 2 b 2 scare people into signing off, allbeit, in most cases, temporarily, it seems 2 work 2.I was the only one 2 turn up onthe Monday
